Private ceramics classes at Claymates are a thoughtful, creative way to celebrate special occasions in the heart of Margaret River. From intimate hand-building sessions for two through to group workshops for up to 24 guests, our light-filled studio offers a relaxed and welcoming space to slow down and create together.

These private events are suitable for all skill levels, including complete beginners. With gentle, step-by-step guidance, everyone will make a beautiful ceramic piece they’ll be proud to take home.

What you’ll make

We recommend creating a functional piece such as:

  • A hand-built vase
  • A ring dish or jewellery bowl
  • A small plate or platter

Pieces can be embellished with botanical impressions and finished with your choice of glazes and oxides, allowing each guest to create something personal and unique.

All work is carefully bisque fired, clear glazed, and glaze fired in our studio. Finished pieces are ready for collection in approximately 6–8 weeks. Postage can be arranged at the participant’s cost.

Private classes run for a minimum of two hours and include:
