Claymates Members Pass offers flexible, independent studio access for intermediate ceramicists in Margaret River. Work on your own hand-building or wheel-throwing projects in a fully equipped ceramics studio, with the freedom to create at your own pace and use sessions when it suits you. Ideal for makers with ongoing projects who need space, tools, and a supportive studio environment—without the structure of a class.

When inspiration strikes but space or time feels limited, our Claymates Members Pass gives you the freedom to work on your projects in a supportive, fully equipped ceramics studio. Hand-building or wheel-throwing, this is your space to make, experiment, and create at your own pace.

How It Works:

Claymates Members Passes are flexible and designed for makers who want regular studio access without rigid class schedules.

  • Session length: 2 hours
  • Available: Thursdays, 9:30am – 2:30pm
  • Term One: Thursday 29th January – Thursday 19th March (7 weeks)
  • Pass options: 5 or 10 sessions (no expiry date)
  • Pay-per-session: $35

  • Hand-building tables and tools
  • Glaze and finishing areas
  • Potters wheel
  • Pug mill
  • Electric kiln access (firing charged at $20/kg finished weight, includes bisque and glaze firings)

Who can become a Claymates Member?

Intermediate ceramicists are welcome. This is designed for makers who are comfortable with independent hand-building or wheel-throwing.

Are clay, glazes, or instruction included?

No. Members provide their own clay and glazes, and instruction is not included.

How much is firing?

Firing is charged at $20 per kilogram of finished ceramics, which includes both bisque and glaze firings.

Can I choose my own sessions?

No. Passes have no expiry date, giving you complete flexibility to use your sessions at your own pace. Note: Claymates Members have use of the facilities between 9:30 - 12:30pm every Thursday.

What facilities are available to members?

Full studio access: wheel-throwing stations, hand-building tables, tools, glaze and finishing areas, and kiln access.
